One of the alleged perpetrators of the torture and murder of Irma Hernández, a retired teacher and taxi driver from the town of Álamo Temapache, in northern Veracruz, was arrested by state authorities.
In a press release, the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office reported that José Ramón “N” was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the aggravated kidnapping of the teacher, which occurred on July 18.
“After executing an arrest warrant by members of the Ministerial Police against José Ramón “N,” as the probable perpetrator of the crime of aggravated kidnapping committed against the victim Irma Hernández Cruz, a retired teacher and taxi driver, the initial hearing was held, during which the Tuxpan Regional Attorney’s Office issued the corresponding charges,” the agency stated.
The Prosecutor’s Office stated that, in the first instance, the alleged member of the criminal cell will remain in pretrial detention while the judicial proceedings against him are carried out.
