FIFA Unveils 2026 World Cup Mascots: Meet Maple, Zayu, and Clutch

Written by Parriva — September 25, 2025

Less than a year before the start of FIFA’s most important international tournament, the 2026 World Cup, the official mascots have been revealed. This edition is historic, as it will be the first in which three countries host the tournament: the United States (US), Mexico, and Canada. The countdown begins, and here we tell you all the details about how these designs were chosen.

“These mascots will pay tribute to the cultures of each host country and motivate fans to celebrate a groundbreaking World Cup. The three mascots are part of an extensive licensing program that will include official products, as well as their incorporation as interactive characters in FIFA Heroes, within the FIFA ecosystem,” the organization explained in an official statement.

“The FIFA World Cup 26 team keeps growing… and it just keeps getting even more fun! Maple, Zayu, and Clutch convey the joy, excitement, and spirit of togetherness that defines the FIFA World Cup. These three mascots are an essential element of the festive atmosphere we’re creating for this historic tournament, and I’m confident they will win over fans in North America and around the world.

I can already picture them on kids’ jerseys, high-fiving football legends, and, for the first time, starring in video games that millions will enjoy,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
