A significant blow to organized crime took place in the town of ElDorado, Sinaloa, with the arrest of Cipriano “El Güero Cipriano”, identified as the leader of the criminal group known as “Los Güeros”.
The capture was the result of a strong joint operation led by elements of the Ministry of the Navy (SEMAR) in coordination with federal corporations.
During the action, two other armed individuals who acted as their main gunmen were also apprehended.
Official sources confirmed that “El Güero Cipriano” was considered a priority objective for federal security forces.
He is credited with being one of the main generators of the violence rate registered in the ElDorado region in recent months. Intelligence investigations indicate that the detainee served as the armed wing of the criminal cell headed by Ismael Zambada Sicairos, alias “El Mayito Flaco”, maintaining an active criminal structure in the area.
After his capture, unofficial sources assure that members of his same cell were trying to negotiate monetary agreements for his release.
This situation underlines the relevance of Cipriano within the operational structure of organized crime in Sinaloa.
