The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted specialized training for members of the Jalisco State Security Secretariat and personnel from federal and municipal law enforcement agencies on detecting and neutralizing high-impact threats as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The course, part of the bilateral cooperation between Mexico and the United States, aimed to strengthen security capabilities in anticipation of a major international event like the World Cup.

A total of 29 Jalisco state police officers participated in the training, along with members of the National Defense Secretariat (Defensa), the Navy Secretariat (Semar), the National Guard (GN), and the municipal police departments of Guadalajara and Zapopan.

The FBI’s Criminal Intelligence Division provided the training, which covered evidence handling and strategies for confronting high-risk threats.
