A 25-year-old man and a 68-year-old man were charged in the United States with allegedly conspiring to materially support the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) criminal group through US assets.
These are Maxwell Sterling Jensen, 25, of Draper, Utah, and James Lael Jensen, 68, of Sandy, Utah. They are the son and father, respectively, and are accused of operating Arroyo Terminals, a company based in Rio Hondo, Texas.
The two are charged after allegedly “conspiring to provide material support to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the form of US currency,” according to a statement posted on the Department of Justice website on May 30.
The father and son are accused of their possible involvement in financial activities aimed at concealing the source of income obtained from the trafficking of crude oil.
The two individuals are also accused of allegedly being complicit in the fraudulent entry of approximately 2,881 shipments of oil, thereby violating U.S. tariff laws.
