Singer, composer, and businessman Ernesto Barajas, leader and founder of the group Enigma Norteño, was shot and killed along with another man in an armed attack in the Arenales Tapatíos neighborhood in the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco.
According to initial reports, the two were at a boarding house and were about to get into their car when armed men intercepted and shot them.
Officers from the Zapopan Police and the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the scene to begin the corresponding investigations.
It should be noted that in July 2023, Enigma Norteño was scheduled to perform at La Feria Rosarito in Baja California, but days before the performance, a narcomanta addressed to the vocalist was found, leading to the cancellation of the performance.
