Former Tijuana Welfare Secretary and former boxer Érik “Terrible” Morales Elvira, who was accused on July 10 of sexually abusing a subordinate in the municipal administration, continues to appear in Fox Deportes television network commercials.
Three days after the allegations against the former world champion, on July 13, 2025, a video was posted on Fox Deportes’ official Instagram account showing the former public official dancing, dressed in a dark suit and a tie with red and blue accents. His image is located in the center of the screen, where moments later the message “FOX DEPORTES BEHIND THE SCENES” appears.
In another shot, also in the center of the screen, Morales Elvira, wearing boxing gloves, performs sparring moves against a green chroma key background. The video shows images of other sports figures, such as former soccer player Claudio Suárez, dancing and playing with a soccer ball or speaking in front of a camera.
As an accompanying message to the video, Fox Deportes wrote: “ARE YOU READY? Because we ARE… this is what it looks like behind the scenes with our talents. Surprises are coming on FOX Deportes!”
Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz asked Érik Isaac Morales Elvira to resign as Secretary of Welfare on July 11; one day after the employee reported to the State Attorney General’s Office and the Office of the Comptroller General the sexual abuse she allegedly suffered in the office of the then Secretary of Welfare.
The now former municipal official arrived at the Burgueño Ruiz administration with another complaint of sexual harassment on his back. In January 2024, Martha Basilia García Hernández reported that ten years earlier, while working as a receptionist at a Box Platino gym (owned by Morales Elvira) in the Hipódromo neighborhood, the seven-time boxing champion had groped and kissed her without her consent.
The complaint to the FGE was filed when Morales Elvira was running for mayor of Tijuana for Morena and had plastered the city with billboards promoting herself after leaving the leadership of the State Institute of Sports and Physical Culture to compete for the candidacy with then-mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez.
