Ecuadorean Interior Minister John Reimberg posted this Sunday about the arrest of a suspect allegedly in charge of drug trafficking operations between Colombia, Mexico, and Ecuador.
Reimberg, on social media, described the drug trafficker as a “high-value target.” Simón Agapo M., alias El Tunco, allegedly linked to illicit drug activities, was captured by “National Police in Rocafuerte and immediately transferred to Rocafuerte,” the official reported.
According to the Ecuadorian government, the country is experiencing an unprecedented crisis of violence, marked by the growing power of criminal networks operating in connection with drug trafficking, illegal mining, and other criminal businesses.
