Damaso López Serrano, known as El Mini Lic, former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, reappeared this Friday, May 23, in a United States court to face charges of trafficking fentanyl into the United States.

According to journalist Luis Chaparro, the son of Dámaso López Nuñez, known as El Licenciado, one of the former leaders of the Pacific organization, appeared at 10:00 a.m. this Friday before Judge Claude M. Hilton in the Alexandria County Courthouse in Virginia to face drug trafficking charges.

The journalist, who specializes in security and drug trafficking, stated that El Mini Lic appeared with his defense attorney in courtroom 800. The lawyers and judicial authorities indicated that the hearing was “sealed,” suggesting that López Serrano continues to cooperate with U.S. agencies, as they removed several people, including media outlets, from the hearing.
