Edgar ‘N,’ known as ‘El Limones,’ a member of the criminal organization Los Cabrera, was arrested in Durango.
The man belongs to a group affiliated with Los Mayos of the Sinaloa Cartel, the Security Cabinet reported in a statement.
Information from the National Intelligence Center (CNI) identified the operation of a criminal cell involved in threats and extortion against merchants and ranchers in the region.
The arrest represents a direct blow to extortion networks, in line with the National Strategy against Extortion implemented by Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, stated Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).
During the operation, long guns, a grenade, and tactical equipment were seized. García Harfuch expressed his gratitude for the coordination with the government of Coahuila for its active participation in this case and in the fight against extortion.
