The Municipal Police of Zapopan, Jalisco, arrested alleged drug trafficker Diego Abel Miranda Rodríguez, better known as “El Kateo,” identified as the lieutenant of Pablo Edwin Huerta Nuño, “El Flaquito,” leader of the Arellano Félix Cartel (CAF), recently captured in Tijuana.
The arrest took place on Sunday, July 13, in the Jardines del Valle neighborhood, when officers were alerted to an armed individual inside a restaurant near the intersection of Valle de Atemajac and Avenida Servidor Público.
Zapopan police arrested an individual carrying an AK-47 rifle. In a statement, the police station reported that the individual, a 32-year-old male, was referred to the Public Ministry for investigation.
On the morning of Tuesday, July 15, the Baja California Security Roundtable confirmed that the detainee is Miranda Rodríguez, alias “El Kateo,” who at the time of his arrest identified himself with the false name Luis Mier Luna.
