On the night of April 29, 2026, a convoy escorted by armored vehicles proceeded under strict security measures from the headquarters of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to the maximum-security prison of El Altiplano, in the State of Mexico.
Traveling inside one of the armored vehicles was Audias Flores Silva—alias “El Jardinero” (The Gardener)—whom Mexican and U.S. authorities consider one of the top leaders of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and a potential successor to Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho.”
The transfer operation began shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday and concluded nearly two hours later, on Thursday, April 30, following a court hearing in which Flores Silva was ordered held in preventive detention for his probable involvement in crimes related to the possession of firearms and ammunition magazines designated for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.
The transfer, executed by the Criminal Investigation Agency and federal forces, proceeded without incident and was carried out under a security protocol reserved for high-risk inmates.
