“El Gordo” and Eight Members of CJNG’s La Barredora Arrested in Puebla

A total of nine individuals, alleged members of the La Barredora criminal group, were arrested in Puebla. This group is linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

During the Puebla government press conference on January 6, the state attorney general, Idamis Pastor Betancourt, reported on the results of an operation in the state.

The individuals arrested were apprehended in Tecamachalco. Images shared by authorities show that the individuals were wearing vests with the letters CJNG.

“Regarding the arrest of nine people, in an inter-agency operation, nine individuals were arrested for crimes including attempted homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and drug-related offenses. They are linked to the La Barredora group and were arrested with six long guns and tactical gear.”
