Daniel ‘N,’ alias ‘El Dany,’ a U.S. citizen, was arrested in Culiacán, Sinaloa, reported Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

The man was a priority target for the United States for his involvement in conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. He was wanted on an arrest warrant and had a red notice from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The arrest was the result of a coordinated operation between the Mexican government’s Security Cabinet and international agencies, the SSPC head reported.
El Dany’s arrest was carried out within the framework of a bilateral cooperation strategy to combat the trafficking of synthetic drugs.

García Harfuch explained that the operation was led by federal personnel with support from the Ministry of National Defense (Defense), the Ministry of the Navy, the National Guard, and the Attorney General’s Office.

Following his arrest, El Dany was turned over to the appropriate authorities, who will determine the corresponding procedures in accordance with international extradition treaties.
