A second person implicated in the murder of Father Marcelo Pérez in Chiapas has been arrested. He is identified as Héctor “N,” alias “El Chesman,” the alleged leader of the criminal group “Los Motonetos.”
Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca, Attorney General of Chiapas, reported that the individual was arrested for the crimes of gang membership and attacks on the peace of the state. He was identified as the leader of a criminal group that generates violence. However, he is also linked to the investigation into the homicide of the parish priest, which occurred in October 2024 in San Cristóbal de las Casas.
“He is currently being held in the corresponding prison and is at the disposal of the judicial authority. I also want to make it very important to mention that this person detained today, Héctor “N,” alias “El Chesman,” is linked to the unfortunate events that occurred last October, in which the priest Marcelo Pérez lost his life,” the prosecutor stated.
In light of these events, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) has an investigation file on which it is working in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office to execute the arrest warrant for aggravated homicide against the man.
