State and federal authorities arrested “El Apá,” also known as “El 10” or “El Viejito,” on November 6, 2025. He is considered second-in-command of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the central-western region and the right-hand man of Armando Nava Gallegos, “El Charro,” who was arrested on October 31 of the same year.
The arrest, carried out in a joint operation between the Attorney General’s Offices of Aguascalientes and Jalisco, as well as the Armed Forces, took place in San Juan de los Lagos, following a series of arrests made between November 2 and 4, 2025, in Aguascalientes, which yielded key information about his whereabouts.

“El Apá” and/or “El 10” and/or “El Viejito” was incarcerated at the State Penitentiary Center (CEPES), located on the road to Calvillo, and was to be presented before a judge on charges of organized crime, extortion, and homicide.
