Authorities in Morelos reported the arrest of a man identified as the alleged leader of a cell known as La Nueva Empresa, also known as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) – El Trébol.

The arrest of Omar “N,” a 34-year-old man, was made following events that occurred on November 5, when agents identified vehicles traveling from Temixco to Jojutla with the objective of delivering a threatening message, signed by La Nueva Empresa.

Miguel Ángel Urrutia Lozano, head of the State Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), announced the capture of Omar “N” at a press conference on January 14.

The arrest was carried out on December 18 as a result of a search warrant executed at a property in the municipality of Temixco. The objective of the review was to find evidence about the abandonment of human remains, the latter events recorded on November 5, in the Plaza de la Convivencia of Acatlipa.
