Norberto ‘N’, known as El 30, identified as a suspected key financial operator within the Sinaloa Cartel, was identified as one of the civilians killed during an armed confrontation on Saturday, July 12, in the municipality of Tacuichamona, south of Culiacán.

The shooting occurred on a dirt road connecting the community of Estancia de los García with the town of Las Mesas, where members of the armed forces clashed with armed civilians. Another person, not yet officially identified, was also killed at the scene. During the operation, authorities seized two vehicles: a gray Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck and a Jeep Rubicon, both with recent license plates from the year 2025.

According to information confirmed by official sources, Norberto “N,” 32, was being investigated for his possible role in the management of economic resources derived from illicit activities, particularly fentanyl trafficking.

His name gained notoriety in September 2024, when he and his wife were included on a list of individuals sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) under Executive Order 14059, which combats synthetic drug trafficking.

On Saturday, July 12, at least five people were murdered in separate incidents in Culiacán, Navolato, and San Ignacio, including a minor on Saturday, July 12, in Sinaloa.
