Acapulco authorities reported that in three days the 2025 Acamoto left at least eight motorcyclists dead in accidents, 42 people arrested for administrative violations—including the person responsible for the death of a pedestrian—, 290 violations, and 115 motorcycles seized for lack of documentation; three of these were reported stolen.
This afternoon, on Costera Avenue, in front of the Emporio Hotel, the police chief oversaw the security operation for the Acamoto. He said that more than 10,100 motorcyclists had arrived as of Friday and that “today (Saturday) 20 percent more arrived.”
“We know that this situation is very upsetting for many people; however, we can’t avoid it. This is an event organized through social media, and people have the right to free movement,” he added.
110 tons of trash collected after Acamoto
Costera Avenue woke up littered with solid waste after thousands of motorcyclists participated in Acamoto 2025, Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
The director of the Beach Promotion Agency, Alfredo Lacunza de la Cruz, reported that his agency collected 110 tons of solid waste from beaches and surrounding areas during the three days of the event.
