Alejandro “Alito” Moreno Cárdenas’s tone regarding the defense of those arrested last Saturday escalated. “Damn repressive narco-government! Are you going to keep pretending nothing happened here? Do you really intend to hide all the wounded, beaten, subdued, and detained? Do you think that with your cronies, stooges, and propaganda machine you’re going to change the narrative?” the PRI leader wrote in a tweet. Hours later, the Morena leadership exposed the connections of one of the “young” organizers, an aspiring PRI candidate, who has held contracts with the PAN, the party in which he has served in various positions.

This is Edson Saúl Andrade Lemus, who was a candidate for the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) for councilman in the Miguel Hidalgo borough. Andrade Lemus was an activist against the Judicial Reform and participated in the violent takeover of the Senate. According to Morena, he received 2,106,810 pesos in contracts from the PAN.

Furthermore, a review of the National Transparency Platform reveals that between July 2021 and June 2022, he worked as an area executive in the Communications Secretariat of the National Executive Committee of the National Action Party (PAN). Subsequently, between July and December 2022, he served as an area executive in the National Coordination of Trustees and Councilors of the PAN.
