The president herself stated this, emphasizing that this result is due to her close connection with the people.
“And look, we had a year, 2025, of intense media attacks on social networks. Incidentally, this is also a topic for debate; I’m not entirely sure we’re making progress on it either, but the amount of fake news, misinformation, and misinformation on social media is constantly increasing. And with Artificial Intelligence and the way people present themselves, it’s something we all need to discuss: how do we guarantee the right to information and truth?”

Sheinbaum begins 2026 with broad support
To the question: “Do you agree or disagree with the work done so far by the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo?”, 72 percent of respondents answered “agree”; 18 percent said “disagree”; and 7 percent “neither agree nor disagree.” “Neither agree nor disagree”; and 3 percent “don’t know/no answer.”
This broad support comes at the start of the year with a strengthening of the peso against the dollar; Mexico being the second country with the lowest unemployment in the world; a 13 percent increase in the minimum wage; a 13.6 percent increase in international visitor arrivals compared to 2014; and a strengthened Mexican Stock Exchange and Institutional Stock Exchange.
This public endorsement also coincides with a 37 percent decrease in intentional homicides, registering 32 fewer homicides per day, according to the latest crime statistics report for the country.
