Although Saúl Álvarez defeated William Scull by unanimous decision, a collective feeling remained: the fight left much to be desired. And this wasn’t just something that Canelo’s fans shared, but also the boxer himself, who declared: “We wanted a different kind of fight, but it takes two to have a good one,” alluding to Scull’s “running away” in the ring.

Sports journalist David Faitelson joined those criticizing the fight. True to form, he called the Mexican boxer “decadent”: “The end is near,” he asserted.

However, Faitelson’s words didn’t stop there. In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, he accused “Canelo” of living in a “completely economic phase” and having one of the worst nights of his career.

“He lacked the arguments to decipher the Cuban boxer’s awkward style… It was one of his worst performances,” Faitelson declared.
