Laisha Oseguera González, the youngest daughter of Rubén Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” the former leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) who was killed in a military operation on February 22, 2016, operates a café called “El Rincón La Chulis” in the city of Perris, in Riverside County, California, according to the New York Post.

The 24-year-old Oseguera González was photographed on March 3, 2016, in Zapopan, Jalisco, during the funeral and burial of her father, who died in a confrontation with the Mexican Army in the municipality of Tapalpa, Jalisco. According to the Post, when staff visited the establishment the following day, customers were surprised to learn of the place’s connection to the deceased drug lord and stated that they hadn’t seen Oseguera González since his father died in the military operation.

The café, whose Facebook page was created in 2018 and has 78 followers, is located inside a shopping center in Perris and offers drinks, desserts, bread, and snacks. To date, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which has blacklisted dozens of companies in Mexico linked to the CJNG and “El Mencho” for alleged money laundering, has not included the business on its lists.

Laisha is married to Cristian Gutiérrez Ochoa, 28, originally from Michoacán, who allegedly participated in the 2021 kidnapping of two members of the Mexican Navy to demand the release of “El Mencho’s” wife, who was imprisoned at the time. Following the kidnapping, Gutiérrez Ochoa faked his own death and fled to the United States under a false identity, where he settled in Riverside County with Oseguera González.
