Criminal Network of “Commander Cromo,” a Criminal Group Operating in the Interoceanic Corridor, Revealed: 53 Arrested

Following the arrest of 53 members of the Los Cromo criminal organization, the Mexican Navy (Semar) deployed Operation Sable in the Interoceanic Corridor region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

According to information from the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, the operation aims to halt the expansion of this criminal group, which sought to seize control of one of the strategic development hubs promoted by Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum, a key area connecting the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

“It’s the name of an operation designated as such by the Mexican Navy, involving all the institutions of the Security Cabinet. It primarily consists of a territorial deployment where Navy troops are stationed in areas with the highest crime rates.

A report by El Universal detailed that despite the significant losses suffered by the criminal organization, its direct leader remains at the forefront of the cell.

According to the newspaper’s map, the rest of the criminal group is comprised of the following individuals:

Rafael de Jesús Álvarez Palma, alias Fallo and/or Fayo and/or Comandante Renco, remains the leader and direct superior of Cromo.
At the second level are:

Iván Sánchez Santiago, alias Cromo, in charge of the Isthmus region;

Yesenia Sánchez Santiago, Cromo’s sister;

José Luis Pineda Martínez, alias Pora
