The artists were last located last Tuesday at a gym in Mexico City’s wealthy Polanco neighborhood, where they had performed a concert on September 14. Just a week later, this Sunday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro asked his counterpart Claudia Sheinbaum through his X account for help in finding the musicians.
In his message, Petro stated that the musicians disappeared after a concert in the northern state of Sonora, but sources close to the artist have denied this, stating that the artists had not left the Mexican capital.
President Sheinbaum addressed Petro’s request this Monday and announced that the Mexican Foreign Ministry has been in contact with her Colombian counterpart. She also said that the investigations were already being conducted by the Attorney General’s Office, the Secretariat of Citizen Protection, and the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office.
Wanted profiles for both artists were published by Mexican authorities on September 18. According to the description, Sánchez, 31, was wearing a black T-shirt, sweatpants, and white sneakers. Herrera, 35, was wearing a black T-shirt and sweatpants, and sneakers, with no further details provided.
B-King’s last video on his Instagram account dates back to September 15. In it, he is seen in some sort of dressing room getting ready for a performance with his team. “Excellent. Breaking it in Mexico. In Mexico City [Distrito Federal, as the capital was formerly known]. I feel happy, grateful. Let’s break it in the name of Jesus of the Armies,” he tells the person recording him with a device. “Is this your first concert in Mexico?” his interlocutor asks. “Yes, starting today, great things are coming in the name of God,” Sánchez replied in the same video.
On the other hand, in one of Regio Clown’s last recordings on his Instagram account before his disappearance, he announced his show, alongside B-King, on September 14 at the ElectroLab nightclub. This concert, titled “Sin Censura. Independence Day,” took place in the Álvaro Obregón borough, south of Mexico City. In the video, Herrera can be seen sitting next to Sánchez, artist manager Juan Camilo Gallego, and Venezuelan singer Angie Miller.
