Regional Mexican music singer Chuy Lizárraga has sparked controversy on social media after updating his Facebook profile picture with the colors representing LGBTQ+ pride.
This gesture, accompanied by a message that read: “Long live love, sons of bitches! Everyone does what they want with their ass. Settle in!”, has divided opinions.
While some conservative sectors criticized the action, others interpreted it as support for the movement for sexual diversity.
In this context, Lizárraga also responded to the comments on his posts, using an ironic tone and reaffirming his support for love in all its forms.
The controversy surrounding the singer began in mid-May, when a video went viral on the X platform. In the images, recorded during a concert in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on May 18, the performer is seen reacting with grimaces upon seeing two men kissing in the audience.
