Former Paraguayan soccer player Salvador Cabañas, who played for América and Jaguares de Chiapas in Liga MX, is facing a very difficult process. His children, Mía and Santiago, filed a lawsuit seeking to have him declared “insane” and appoint a guardian to manage his assets, claiming that he would not be able to care for himself.
The decision, which surprised and deeply affected the former striker, led to a psychiatric evaluation, the result of which completely contradicted the plaintiffs’ version of events.
They claim that the Paraguayan is well and able to continue managing his assets. The forensic report concluded that Cabañas retains his mental faculties, ruling out the existence of serious disorders. According to the report, the former player was cooperative, with preserved language, coherent thinking, and full critical judgment regarding his situation.
