Isaac Efraín Valadez was a truck driver who documented his travels in Ensenada, Baja California, and shared them on social media, where he was known as ‘Chakin Valadez.’ This activity made him a content creator with a fan base of over 162,000 followers on Facebook. However, this past weekend he was shot and killed.
Police received a report of an armed attack in the San Borja neighborhood of Ensenada. Red Cross paramedics arrived to provide first aid to the influencer, but the gunshot wounds he sustained were fatal, and he died at the scene.
Chakin Valadez was found inside his truck, a white ISUZU, which had several bullet holes in the front and on the driver’s side. According to local media, the assailant or assailants fired at least seven shots.
Chakin Valadez was over 40 years old and a resident of the Ejido Villa de Jesús María in the municipality of San Quintín. He worked as a package delivery driver, traveling throughout the state, primarily between Santa Rosalía, Baja California Sur, and extending to Ensenada, Baja California.
