Internet users revived the controversial images to draw a possible criminal connection as to why the Baja California governor’s tourist visa was revoked last weekend.
The Baja California governor was captured enjoying Julio Álvarez’s concert, who approached her to greet her during the concert at a bullring.
Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila and her husband, Carlos Torres, reported that the United States government revoked their tourist visas over the weekend. Both announced the measure through social media, but the official reasons behind this decision by the Trump administration have not yet been specified. They have only stated that it is an alleged application of administrative criteria.
Carlos Torres, who was the first to report the revocation on May 10, 2025, indicated that the measure responds to internal provisions of the U.S. State Department. Shortly after, Governor Ávila announced that she had also received a similar notification. Both assured their consciences were clear and confident that the situation would be satisfactorily resolved:
“I have never harmed anyone, nor will I, because there are values that are pillars of my life. Don’t look for him. There is nothing to hide. There is nothing to investigate to damage my image,” the Morena governor stated in a brief press conference held on Monday, May 12.
