Journalist Elena Chávez revealed that Marina del Pilar Ávila, governor of Baja California, has been blacklisted by the United States for alleged ties to drug trafficking, especially with a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Why would the US include the governor of Baja California on its blacklist?
Through her social media, Chávez, author of El Rey del Cash and El Gran Corruptor, asserted that Governor Ávila “has entered the list of alleged narco-governors” of the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Elena Chávez reported that the governor of Baja California could be involved in the growth of the Los Rusos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. She also stated that the president of the National Conference of Governors (CONAGO) has hidden the number of missing persons at the hands of organized crime in the state.
“I have just been informed that the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila, has been added to the list of alleged narco-governors maintained by the @realDonaldTrump administration due to the growth of the Los Rusos cartel in the state, a spin-off of the Sinaloa cartel. The president of the sham CONAGO has alarming numbers of missing persons that she has hidden by buying media outlets. @MarinadelPilar,” the journalist posted.
So far, the alleged US list accusing Mexican public officials of having ties to criminal organizations is unknown. For her part, Marina del Pilar Ávila has not responded to the serious accusations made by journalist Elena Chávez.
