Federal authorities seized 62 motorcycles and drugs during an operation that included the execution of four search warrants in Mexico City and the State of Mexico. The operation was related to Ryan James Wedding, a former Olympic athlete and one of the ten most wanted fugitives by U.S. authorities.
Wedding, also an associate of Los Chapitos, is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which is offering a $15 million reward for information leading to his capture.
As a result of bilateral cooperation, members of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the armed forces identified four properties in both states linked to illicit activities and the former athlete.
Doses of methamphetamine and marijuana, 62 high-end motorcycles, two vehicles, works of art, two Olympic medals, ammunition, a magazine, and various documents were found at the residences.
The inspected properties were sealed and placed under the custody of the authorities, while the seized items were turned over to the appropriate Public Prosecutor’s Office.
