The suspect, known as “El Mike,” allegedly collaborated in the WhatsApp and Threema groups where the attack against the public official was planned on November 1, 2025.
However, during the search operations to capture him, authorities arrested Rafael “N,” who used the same nickname, “El Mike,” in the Uruapan region. He is identified as a fuel thief and drug trafficker within the organization led by Jorge Armando “N,” alias “El Licenciado,” the alleged mastermind behind the crime, who is also linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
The findings of the investigation were revealed this Thursday, April 9, by the Attorney General of Michoacán, Carlos Torres Piña, during a meeting with the media about the progress in security matters in the state of Michoacán.
