Authorities in Baja California reported the seizure of a facility allegedly used as a clandestine methamphetamine lab.

Security agents located and dismantled the site in Tijuana, where they found 189 bags of methamphetamine, as well as several barrels containing chemicals, as detailed by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda.

The governor also emphasized that the operation was carried out in response to an anonymous tip and through coordination between the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Ministry of Defense (Defensa), the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), the National Guard, and the State Investigation Agency. “During the Security Meeting led by our Governor Marina Del Pilar, it was reported that a property in Tijuana was seized containing 189 bags of methamphetamine and chemical substances, allegedly used in a clandestine laboratory,” the Baja California government wrote on Facebook on December 19.

Images shared by authorities show the location where the substances were found, as well as security personnel at the scene. Reports indicate that 96 kilograms of the drug were seized.
