Anti-ICE, Anti-Trump, Anti-Tour: Bad Bunny Takes Over the Super Bowl

Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February, the NFL announced Sunday.

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was born and raised in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. A three-time Grammy winner, he is one of the most popular Latin artists in the world.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history,” Bad Bunny said in a joint statement released by the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.

“Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” he added, which translates to “Go tell your grandmother we’re going to be the Super Bowl halftime show.”

Earlier this month, Bad Bunny told i-D Magazine that he is not performing in the mainland U.S. on his upcoming world tour due to concerns his concerts could be sites of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. Since President Trump returned to office in January, ICE raids have occurred in cities across the country.

“But there was the issue of — like, f‑‑‑ing ICE could be outside [my concerts],” he said. “And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

The “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” tour begins in November and runs through July 2026, with stops including the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Spain.
