The White House published a screenshot of President Donald Trump’s Truth Social account on its X account, where he posted an artificially generated image of himself impersonating the Pope, one week before the conclave begins at the Vatican.
In this context, Cardinal Raymond Burke, 76, who will participate in the election process at the Holy See, is considered by critics to be an avowed traditionalist and publicly dissents from Pope Francis’s more liberal philosophies, particularly regarding his willingness to allow divorced and remarried couples to receive the Eucharist.
The conservative cleric, openly supportive of the tycoon’s policies, also described the Church’s new language regarding artificial contraception, civil marriages, and homosexuals as “objectionable.”
