Diego Sebastián “N”—identified as the perpetrator of the multiple homicide involving Jonathan Meléndez, the keyboardist for the band Camilo Séptimo, and his family in Atizapán de Zaragoza—is the subject of two prior case files in Mexico City. Both were opened in 2007 regarding the crimes of domestic violence and making threats, as confirmed on Monday by the capital’s Attorney General, Bertha Alcalde Luján.
Diego Sebastián “N” and his accomplice, Gerardo “N,” have been held in mandatory pre-trial detention at the Barrientos Prison since September 4. They are charged with aggravated homicide, homicide against a woman and a minor, termination of pregnancy, and cruelty toward a sentient being.
Alcalde Luján explained that the first file against Diego Sebastián “N” stems from a 2007 preliminary investigation for domestic violence, while the second concerns a complaint of making threats filed in 2026. The official clarified that neither investigation is directly related to the multiple homicide in Atizapán.
“There are two investigation files—well, one preliminary investigation dating back to 2007 for domestic violence, and another linked to the crime of making threats, filed by an elderly woman who reported this individual that same year,” the prosecutor stated.
