In a coordinated operation in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexican authorities arrested Alejandro Rosales Castillo, identified as one of the FBI’s 10 most wanted fugitives.
The operation was the result of intelligence work and information sharing between the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), and the FBI.
According to the investigation, Alejandro Rosales resided in Pachuca and was linked to the 2016 murder of a woman in the United States. In 2017, the U.S. government added him to its list of the 10 most wanted fugitives.
After surveillance in various areas of the municipality, agents identified him and, after verifying his identity, proceeded with his arrest. The man was informed of his rights and turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine his legal status and the corresponding extradition process.
Rosales Castillo is subject to a red notice and an arrest warrant for extradition purposes. He is wanted by North Carolina authorities for first-degree murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and vehicle theft. The FBI was offering a $250,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
