Now, with the scandal in the Los Angeles council, many will ask: How does this impact me? What are they doing? How does it impact my life?
Here are some answers to this.
The council of the city of Los Angeles is made up of 15 people, who represent the districts in which the city has been divided.
Among its tasks are:
-The council is the legislative body of the city. It enacts laws, initiatives, funds for different types of projects, orders elections, establishes taxes, traffic regulations and establishes the city budget.
To get an idea of its importance, this year’s budget amounts to 12 billion for the years 23-24. The city employs about 50 thousand employees.
