The actor Xavier López, best known for his character ‘Chabelo’, died this Saturday, March 25, at the age of 88; This driver marked an entire era on television for children and adults with his program “En familia con Chabelo”, which was broadcast for more than 40 years in Mexico.
Through the official social networks of the driver, the López Miranda family reported that “Chabelo” died this morning due to abdominal complications, and they asked the public to “let them mourn in peace” after the painful loss.
“With a torn soul and knowing that many and many people have loved him for many years and that they will feel his departure, we ask you to pray for his rest and give us the opportunity to peacefully go through the mourning that overwhelms our entire family,” they shared in the actor’s Twitter account.
Chabelo retired from his role as host of “En Familia con Chabelo” in 2015, at the age of 80, after more than four decades on the air. Despite his retirement from him, he remains a beloved figure in Mexico and is remembered as one of the most influential and beloved children’s entertainers in the country’s history.
