President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) launched himself against the singers of corridos lying down like Peso Pluma, for advocating drug use and drug trafficking.
While Peso Pluma triumphs with his latest album Genesis, the president decided to take sides and appeal to young people not to listen to him. Well, now AMLO will prove how popular he is by going against the most popular young Mexican in the world.
Since the morning conference on June 23, President AMLO, who did not mention the young artist by name, assured that there is an interpreter who “paints drug addiction rosy” despite the fact that it can be fatal. In addition, AMLO called for work to guide young people to avoid the consumption of illegal substances and not listen to the music of Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, known as Peso Pluma, even if it seems “cool” to them.
President AMLO shared that he is not a fan of Peso Pluma and the corridos tumbados for advocating drug addiction and drug trafficking. Although he does not say the name of the artist, the president refers to Peso Pluma, who has songs that exalt life in drug trafficking, as well as excess. AMLO criticized that in the corridos of this artist he wants to make this lifestyle look “very virile” and very successful, and assured that he encourages himself to consume drugs such as fentanyl.
This can be seen in the Peso Pluma song “El azul”, where the 23-year-old singer refers to fentanyl as the “blue Rolls-Royce”. Also, that same song talks about the use of weapons and cocaine trafficking for money.
