Chinese officials recently said: The US is not as powerful a country as it once was.
The Russians are playing with their rhetoric to stop the war with Ukraine.
Donald Trump’s economic plan is stalled in the Senate, with a high probability of not being approved.
The supposed implementation of tariffs continues to be postponed, to the point that the program is now being referred to as TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out). He makes small agreements with some countries, threatens smaller ones, and then postpones their implementation.
The country is immersed in an “apparent” civil war, where the vast immigrant community is fighting ICE operations street to street.
These are just some of the problems the Trump Administration has gotten the country into, with no regard for the human casualties it leaves behind.
Last week, the fight between Elon Musk and Trump erupted. The supposedly most stable “marriage” came to an end, causing such a stir that it forced the US president to fall silent, something very rare for him.
“I don’t want to talk about Musk,” he told the press.
Everywhere you look, instability, fear, and uncertainty surround the country. Over the weekend, ICE stepped up its immigration raids, capturing all the headlines and press attention. Hidden behind the raids were the other issues on his agenda: his economic plan and the rejection of his former allies; Vladimir Putin’s deaf ear to the increasingly distant peace with Ukraine. Let’s remember that Trump promised during his campaign to end that conflict within 24 hours. China continues to smile. It hasn’t bowed to the president’s threats; it has defied him.
So, the raids are just a political distraction? We don’t doubt it. However, in this political chess game, thousands of migrant families who have spent most of their lives in the country are being swept under the rug. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about the families left without a livelihood, the families who are separated, the children who are orphaned. The sin of these people has been working and being good citizens.
Trump triumphantly declared the arrival of the National Guard to Los Angeles: “They spit. We hit.”
If you were ever surprised by the regimes of Cuba, Venezuela, or any other socialist country, the United States isn’t far from it.
The director of ICE declared that he would pursue criminal charges against any official who interfered with his agents. And if you thought you had the right to speak your mind, do it twice. Veteran ABC News correspondent Terry Moran was suspended Sunday after he posted a harsh criticism of the Trump White House on X.
Moran, 65, took aim Saturday at President Trump and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who has been outspoken in his desire to see a step up in the deportation of undocumented migrants.
“Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater,” Moran wrote his post, which has been deleted. “You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.” He also described Miller as “vile.”
Chaos and the worst, no one can predict what is coming.
