Meliza Campos Sánchez, a 26-year-old influencer, was arrested on Monday, August 17, in Miami, Florida, after authorities determined that a fire at her home the previous day had been deliberately set while her two young daughters were inside.
She faces one count of first-degree arson, one count of child abuse, and two counts of child neglect, according to local authorities. The investigation began on Sunday, August 16, when Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responded to the home following a report of a kitchen fire.
A fire investigator concluded that the blaze had been intentionally started using an open flame, flammable liquids, and combustible materials, according to court documents. Investigators found burnt materials and minor damage in the center of the kitchen floor.
