A ‘narcomanta’ (narco-banner) and at least one pig’s head were placed in the municipality of Tecate, Baja California, to threaten the state prosecutor, María Elena Andrade Ramírez, and Juan Carlos Buenrostro Molina, the Cabinet Coordinator for the same agency.
The banner was discovered early Sunday morning on a bridge over the Vía Rápida Oriente—in the La Mesa district near the Tijuana General Hospital—accusing agents of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of allegedly “selling positions” and drugs, as well as engaging in extortion on behalf of the prosecutor.
According to ‘Semanario Zeta’, Municipal Police officers were the first to arrive at the scene to remove the items. The message was primarily directed at Buenrostro Molina, demanding that he “rein in his dogs.” Prosecutor Andrade Ramírez was named as the second recipient in a “serious warning” urging her to take action against agency personnel regarding the alleged misconduct.
