Personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy arrested Rosario Fidel Angulo Salazar—alias “El Yukito” and son of Fredy Angulo Soto (“El Yuko”)—on Thursday, July 30, during an air and ground operation in the community of El Zapote de los Cázares, in the municipality of Mocorito, Sinaloa.
According to the National Detention Registry (RND), the arrest took place at 3:15 PM. At least 17 other individuals identified as part of his security detail were reportedly arrested alongside him.
The arrest record describes “El Yukito” as a man of medium build and fair complexion, with no beard or mustache; at the time of his arrest, he was wearing a black T-shirt, black-and-white shorts, and black sneakers.
The operation was carried out two weeks after an initial deployment by the Navy in the same mountain village on July 11, which did not result in any confirmed arrests. On that occasion, Texan T6C aircraft and a Black Hawk helicopter flew at low altitude over the streets of the community—which has fewer than 100 inhabitants and is located 40 kilometers south of Badiraguato and 70 kilometers north of Culiacán.
