Mexican wrestling is experiencing one of its saddest moments after the death of Héctor Rodolfo Guzmán Rodríguez, son of the legendary El Santo, the Silver Masked One, and father of wrestler Axel, was confirmed. His passing prompted numerous expressions of condolence from fans and figures in the national wrestling scene, as he was a member of one of the most emblematic families in the sport.

The news was announced by Karlita García, Axel’s wife and daughter of the legendary wrestler Huracán Ramírez, who shared a notice to announce his death and the details of the posthumous tribute that will be held in Mexico City.

Héctor Rodolfo Guzmán Rodríguez was the third son of Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, better known as El Santo, considered the greatest figure in Mexican wrestling and one of the most influential figures in the country’s popular culture.

Although he never pursued a professional wrestling career, his name was always linked to the legacy built by his father. He was also the brother of El Hijo del Santo, who for decades carried on the mask and the character immortalized by El Enmascarado de Plata (The Silver Masked One).

He was also the father of the wrestler Axel, representing the new generation of the Guzmán family, who has kept the wrestling tradition alive in various promotions across the country.
