The “Colombia 2026 Public Opinion and Electoral Climate” study—a survey conducted between May 19 and May 23 by the polling firm Tempo—positions presidential candidate Iván Cepeda Castro (Left) as the frontrunner among voters.
According to the poll—which drew upon a sample of 1,860 participants across 25 cities nationwide—the *Pacto Histórico* (Historic Pact) candidate would secure 38.12% of the vote in the first round. He is followed by Paloma Valencia (Right) of the *Centro Democrático* (Democratic Center), with 27.96% support, and attorney Abelardo de la Espriella (Right), with 22.90% of the vote.
These three aspirants significantly outpace the rest of the field. Sergio Fajardo (Center), the fourth-favorite candidate among voters, would garner a mere 2.58% of the vote in the first round. Claudia López (Center) follows with the next-highest level of support, achieving just 0.97% of the electoral vote, followed by Roy Barreras (Left) with 0.43%.
In fact, the “blank vote” option outranks every individual candidate starting from Sergio Fajardo downward; 3.44% of voters would opt for this choice, abstaining from selecting any of the 13 candidates included in the survey. It is worth noting that only 12 aspirants currently remain in the race, given that Luis Gilberto Murillo has joined Iván Cepeda’s campaign.
