The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) executed an arrest warrant against Fernando Yael Pérez Molina—a student at the School of Banking and Commerce (EBC)—for his involvement in the femicide of his mother, Teresa Guadalupe Molina. The crime took place at a residence located in the Venustiano Carranza borough.

The young man demanded that his mother hand over two thousand pesos and grant him permission to attend a party. Following his mother’s refusal, Fernando Yael allegedly initiated a physical assault inside the home, ultimately killing her. During the forensic examination of the property, criminalistics experts discovered traces of blood, confirming that the location was indeed the crime scene.
Following the discovery of the body, agents from the Investigative Police (PDI) launched a search operation that led to the suspect’s apprehension just hours after the incident occurred. At the time of his arrest, the defendant was driving his mother’s vehicle and was in possession of her bank cards, which he had already begun using.
Fernando Yael Pérez Molina was transferred to the North Men’s Preventive Detention Center, where he was placed at the disposal of the presiding control judge. An initial hearing is scheduled to take place in the coming hours to define his legal status and determine whether he will be formally indicted for the crime of femicide. For its part, the FGJCDMX reiterated that the investigation remains open in order to strengthen the case file and ensure that this crime does not go unpunished.
