PAN Governor María Eugenia (Maru) Campos Galván yesterday welcomed the U.S. government’s extradition request targeting officials in Sinaloa—including Morena Senator Enrique Inzunza Cázarez and Governor Rubén Rocha Moya.

“How could I possibly appear at a Senate working session? Especially when the very people demanding that the Governor of Chihuahua appear are themselves on this U.S. government ‘red list’? We are beginning to see who is who,” she argued.

In a group interview held after inaugurating a project for the state’s DIF (Family Development System) agency, Campos Galván stated: “The children under the DIF’s care suffer from neurological damage caused by organized crime-related violence. These are the consequences—addiction, drug-related crime, and children sustaining psychiatric and psychological harm due to violence. That is why—I repeat—we are directing our full offensive against organized crime.”

The night before last, while meeting with business leaders and local officials from the Mexican Employers’ Confederation (Coparmex) in the city of Delicias, the governor defended her strategy for combating organized crime—a strategy that has faced criticism for alleged violations of the National Security Law due to the involvement of undercover U.S. agents from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

In her remarks during the event, the state governor declared: “Peace on the streets, security for businesses, and the certainty of being able to walk without fear and work without anxiety—this is what my administration stands for, and it represents the most complete expression of our sovereignty.”
