An unusual criminal incident took place in the parking lot of a Walmart shopping center located in the Colonia Hidalgo neighborhood of Mexicali, where surveillance technology unexpectedly thwarted the plans of two thieves. (Narco-Trafficking News)
The young thieves managed to steal a vehicle from the aforementioned establishment’s parking lot, appearing cheerful and smiling as they drove the car away.
However, their air of confidence shifted drastically when the scruffy pair noticed a crucial detail: the vehicle was equipped with an internal security camera. Upon realizing they were being directly exposed—and understanding that their faces were being captured on video—panic replaced their laughter.
Fearing they would be immediately identified and apprehended by authorities, they abandoned the vehicle just minutes after committing the theft.
Preliminary reports suggest that both individuals involved may be members of a local gang known as “Los Hobbits.” As of now, authorities have not issued an official statement confirming any arrests in connection with this incident.
