Gas Station Tycoon Arnulfo Aguilar Salazar Kidnapped in Culiacán

An armed group abducted gas station tycoon Arnulfo Aguilar Salazar in Culiacán, Sinaloa, in the vicinity of the La Lomita temple, triggering a massive police operation in the area.

According to reports from media outlets such as *Noroeste* and *El Sol de Sinaloa*, the incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 24, as the 81-year-old businessman—owner of Grupo Águila—was traveling in a late-model BMW along Juan Pablo II Boulevard, in the Lomas de Guadalupe neighborhood.

It was around 2:30 p.m. when the businessman was intercepted by armed individuals near the Temple of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Salvador Allende Preparatory School, part of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa.

Aguilar Salazar’s vehicle was found abandoned just a few meters from the scene of the crime. The abduction of the businessman prompted an immediate mobilization of security forces from all three levels of government, including personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense.
